- No caption
- Two people, having a conversation
- The people are talking over a cup of coffee the one lady say 18 percent geez and they guy asks is that the credit card rate now. but she says no its the voter turnout rate.
- The message of this cartoon is how low the voter turnout in the U.S is. only 18% of the possible voters came out to actually vote.
- This correlates exactly with our class discussion on VPA and VEA. and only 18% is an extremely low percentage. It makes it worst because it was the primary election it was no normal election it was the biggest election of the year and only 18% voted.
- no satire or irony was used just straight facts.

Voter
Coffee house
- No caption
- Hippies, young voters, coffee shop
- The hippies are influencing the young voters to join and are trying to create a good relationship with the young voters.
- The message of this cartoon is about how the candidates don't communicate with the young voters and how they should communicate with them. In order to get their support and increase voter turnout.
- This relates to our class discussion on ways to increase voter turnout. One is by getting a good relationship with the young voters. Also it shows reason for why the turnout is so low because the older voters don't relate to the younger generation on certain issues.
- This cartoon uses satire because its interesting who they use the hippies to symbolize the views of the older people compare to the younger people of today.

Protection
- Once again no Caption
- You have a man and women in bed smoking.
- There is a man and a women in bed smoking while having a conversation which you could infer is after sex. The girl is thanking the marriage protection amendment while the man is like yea me and my wife voted for it. So you can infer that the lady in the bed is not his wife and he is having an affair.
- The message of this cartoon could be how people take advantage of the law and vote for things that only help their dirty deeds. Also on could just say this may be why some people don't vote because they have other important things to do.
- This relates to our class discussion about voter participation if people look at it the second way I interpreted the cartoon.
- I don't really see any satire or any symbolism I just found this cartoon funny. Also I think it had a funny way of expressing voter participation.
Motion sensor Voting
- No Dialogue in this cartoon with very limited words.
- It's and elder man and a voting station.
- Their are older voters standing at the voter booths and the sign reads "move left or right" and is a motion sensor voting machine.
- The message of this cartoon is the advancement of technology in this day and age. This advancement makes it difficult for the older voters who may not be int ouch with technology like the younger generation. So this can hurt the older voters.
- This relates to our class discussions about voter participation. This is a pure example on how current and future machines will hurt voters. Older people may not understand the machines and may vote wrong or just decide not to vote because of the confusion for them.
- This cartoon uses a large amount of exaggeration. They put a motion sensitive machine to exaggerate the advancement of technology. Which stresses the view point of how older voters will be at a disadvantage.

Voter I.D
- No type of dialogue only one poster with words.
- Its uncle Sam is supposed to be a voter and a lady checking id's.
- Uncle Sam is a voter coming to the voting pool about to get his ID checked but doesn't seem to have it and the lady checking just has and oh well no vote for you kind of look while pointing to the sign that reads "Have voter I.D ready"
- The message of this cartoon is the harmful effects of having this bill and how it could decrease the voter turnout n how people won't have a fair vote. This cartoon make me think that the artist is a liberal due to the position he is depicting in the cartoon.
- This relates heavily to of class discussion not only on voter participation but the voter I.D bill. We have been talking and debating about this subject hard in class. With Philadelphia just passing this bill this cartoon depicts the views of most minorities and democrats.
- This cartoon uses satire a good amount. It uses Uncle Sam who is suppose to represent the people and or federal government so it like you could replace uncle Sam with any minority and it will display the same message. But it makes it more eye catching to the person by using Good Ole Uncle Sam.
Crowd Control
- No Caption only a sign, and dialogue.
- In this cartoon you have a security guard, sign, and newspaper. The artist is very moderate it seems.
- The security guard is holding up a sign that reads "Election here today" then he makes a smart comic about non-lethal crowd control. While all at the same time you have a thrown newspaper on the floor whose headlines read Low voter turnout.
- The message of this cartoon is that their is a extremely low voter turnout in America which is shown by the thrown newspaper. The guard is sarcastically stating basically if you want to control a crowd just put up a sign that says election here. You will have people running or way or not showing up at all.
- It relates to our in class discussion on voter participation. Also it relates to current day problems with U.S low voter turnout compared to other countries.
- This cartoon uses both satire and irony. It uses satire on the basis of over dramatically expressing the low voter turnout. It uses irony because the officer is saying non-lethal crowd control by using a sign which is ironic because people use signs usually are used to draw people in not scare them away.
