- Their is no caption only dialogue
- In this cartoon you have a conservative voter and the republican elephant. The artist means that maybe the elephant represents a republican candidate.
- The republican elephant is having a conversation with a conservative voter. The elephant knows that the voter doesn't really agree with his beliefs/actions but assumes the voter will still vote for him because he won't change party's. But the voter informs the elephant he will just stay home instead of voting.
- The message of this cartoon is another one of the many reason the voter turnout is so low. The fact that voters don't agree with what their candidate is striving to achieve and doesn't believe in just voting for a party because thats who they are affiliated with. So they don't go to vote purposely on election day.
- This relates to one of the many possible reasons that the U.S voter turnout is so low. Also relates to our in class discussions about voter participation and why the U.S participation is so low compared to other countries.
- This cartoon dosen't hold much satire. You could possibly say it uses satire by using the elephant instead of a person to represent the republicans.

Reasons People Don't Vote
Low Voter Turnout
- The caption says "Something tells me they're expecting a low turnout." which in my opinion these words are being used because their is such a lower voter percentage and is trying to emphasize his point.
- Their is a phone booth that says polling station. He is being sarcastic about how big the station is.
- In the cartoon a couple is walking bath a phone booth which has a sign on it that reads "Polling Station" and the lady is commenting on the sign.
- The message of this cartoon is that there is such a low voter turn out. Based on voter eligibility and voter age. He is trying to stress the fact of the difference between the people who vote and the total number of people can vote.
- It relates to our most recent class discussion on VEP and VAP so that's why I choose this cartoon because it relates to our class discussion.
- This cartoon uses irony because the artist used a small phone booth as a polling station which is usually a big building which can hold a lot of people who come to vote. So its ironic how the artist uses the phone booth which usually can only hold one person to represent the lower voter turnout.

Voters Participation
- The caption says "at least somebody is following you." i think this is referring to the loss of voters for the democratic party which has allowed the republicans to take over the senate.
- The cartoon uses the grim reaper which is funny because it like the democrats have loss its stored faith from voters.
- In the cartoon the democratic donkey is being followed by the grim reaper and is asking for him to stop following him but the grim reaper is being sarcastic with his smart remark
- The cartoon in my opinion this cartoons talks about both the faith the voters have loss in Obama because he hasn't lived up to what he said he would do. Even though he really is trying but the house is mainly republicans and won't pass his bills.
- This relates to class because it shows one reason why voter participation is lacking. No one will vote for you if they don't even have faith in your bills.
- The cartoon has a lot of irony because its ironic how they use the grim reaper the bringer of "Death" to follow the donkey. So some would interpret that it means the coming of the death to the democratic party.
Non-Voters
- The caption says " since we didn't bother voting, no one we voted for lost." This caption was use to depict the mindset of many people who don't vote now a days.
- You have a T.V, elderly couple. I think the artist use these symbols to portray a section of non-voters who have the kind of message that voting doesn't effect them.
- The elderly couple is watching television at home while sitting on the couch. Probably a broadcastong about the current election.
- The message of this cartoon is that people in todays society don't really bother with voting. They think it is irrelevant to them and that voting won't help them.
- This cartoon to relates to the lack of voter participation of todays society. thats all we have been talking about in class for the past week is how people don't try to vote especially younger people. while older people who may want to vote sometimes can't get taken to a voting both for several reasons.
- Irony is used very well in this cartoon. one reason is because you usually see the older people become more politically active as the grow older. But in this cartoon its the older people who don't care to vote which is usually the portraial of the younger generation.
Election Day
- Titled Election day. There are no captions
- Not really many symbols in this cartoon. In the cartoon there is two lines toward the building one under "voter here" and the other under "Don't vote here."
- It seems like in my opinion that it is election day and their is two lines one leading to voting and the other towards not voting. The line for not voting is extremely longer than the voting one.
- I think the message of this cartoon is the lack of voter participation in this country. It is to show the drastic distance between people who participate in voting and thous who don't. Also how so many people have an unheard voice in this country for whatever reasons they have.
- It has alot to do with the current days situation. where young people don't reallly vote because they don't fell they are being represented. We have been disscussing this alot in class. On the facts that so many people choose not to vote or just are to busy to go to the voting boths on election day.
- This cartoon use alot of satire in order to get its point across. The make the lines drasticly different to point out how big a difference between the two categories. Even tho it seems so exzagerated in the cartoon.
Supporting Obama
- This cartoon didn't have a title nor caption.
- The older voters are wearing pins to show support while the younger generation is wearing hoodies to show their support. Which shows a difference between older and younger voters. how the times have changed and become more interactive with society. Also they are standing in front of Lincoln's memorial
- The older voter and the younger voter are having a conversation on the experience of Obama.
- The older people are questioning voting for Obama because of his lack of experience in government office. While the younger voters are being relaxed like "it worked out once before so why you worried about it now" referring to Abraham Lincoln's election which i think is why they are standing in front of his memorial. The author has a moderate ideology their is no sway towards neither party.
- It relates to our in-class discussion on voter participation. It shows the difference between younger and older voters. Which sheds some insight on why some people choose to vote the way they do.
- Satire influences the cartoon a lot. irony is used in the young voters comment in front of the Lincoln memorial.
